Abstract

The subject of machinery safety still highlights several critical issues. The cause of such critical issues must be sought in particular in their intrinsic constructive and functional characteristics, in the incorrect behavior of the operators, in the lack of knowledge of the accompanying documentation, in an incorrect approach by the profiles that intervene in the manufacturing, distribution and use processes and in the validation system of their conformity.

In this regard, this presentation provides information on the correct interpretation and application of current legislation, clarifies the meaning of terms such as Objective Protection and Presumption of Conformity, highlights the limits of the CE marking and indicates an overall safety management procedure in the company, including the phases of purchase and maintenance of the machinery.
