On 21 April, the European Commission published the draft of the Machinery Regulation.
There are many new features and a new approach based on developments in innovation and technology in the design and manufacture of machines and products.
This is a reversal of the vision previously expressed in the Guide to the Application of the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC – Edition 2.2, with many new aspects that will have a significant impact on the sector of Technical Communication and Documentation.
Of particular interest is the focus on the electronic format, which opens up new scenarios on which the first debates have already begun within organisations, among manufacturers, consultants and associations for technical communication, and which will require specific skills and abilities to be deployed but also a redesign of the general approach and structuring of contents.
