Starting with a very brief analysis of terminology management at Philips and its importance for effective and compliant technical communication and documentation, this presentation describes the methods used to collect and reuse terminology by the company’s terminology database.

This presentation explains the structure and purpose of the terminology database and how it interacts with the working tools of Philips’ technical writers and translators, both internal and external to the company.

A clear and agreed terminology is the basis for quality technical company contents.

This is why Philips strives to continuously improve the reliability and usability of its terminology database.
